• DSP Design Engineer (Sacramento, San Jose, Minneapolis)

  Responsibilities

  • Development, modeling and hardware (IC) implementation of digital signal processing algorithms/structures for low-power, high-speed transceivers
  • Coordinating with Systems and Analog Engineers to trade off specifications, SNR budgets and power budgets
  • Development of block specifications, SNR budgets, power budgets and meeting those specifications in the implementation
  • Development and implementation of low-power equalization techniques echo cancellers, NEXT cancellers, FEXT cancellers, modulation techniques, FFTs, AGC and timing recovery
  • Writing characterization plans and characterization reports as related to the testing of the IC design
  • Working in a highly collaborative and dynamic startup environment

  Qualification

  • Experience in Digital Signal Processing algorithms and techniques, implementation in ASICs using Verilog
  • Preferable applications are, but not limited to, wire-line products: xDSL, Gigabit Ethernet, Voice-band modems
  • Working knowledge of transceiver Equalization techniques, digital and adaptive filters and FFT techniques
  • Familiarity with modern digital modulation and coding techniques
  • Experience with system level design, simulation, coding, verification, integration and test of communications ICs desired
  • Experience in HDL, Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, synthesis, timing closure, chip integration, tapeout processes and ECOs also desirable
  • MS in Electrical Engineering or related fields is required; PhD is preferred with 3+ years experience in DSP implementations
